Travel: Zagreb is located in the northern part of Croatia on the Sava River, about 170 km from the Adriatic Sea, 380 km southwest from Budapest, Hungary and about 350 km southeast from Vienna, Austria. Formalities for entering Croatia: You will be required to present a valid ID (only for citizens from some neighboring countries!) or passport when entering the country or at other instances within the country. A valid Visa is necessary when coming from certain countries outside Europe and you are advised to check well in advance with a Croatian embassy or consulate in your home country. Special requests: Participants preferring vegetarian food should mark appropriate box on the registration form.
Insurance: The Organizer cannot be made liable for any personal injuries, damage or loss of property that may occur during the Congress to any of the delegates. You are advised to check well in advance that all relevant personal and corporate insurance are valid when attending the meeting.
Currency: The currency in Croatia is kuna (symbol: kn). One USD/Euro is about 7.50 kn (www.hnb.hr). Credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express) are generally accepted in shops, hotels, restaurants and official taxis. Money can be changed most conveniently at exchanges offices at the airport, railways or bus-stations and in town.
Weather: In September, the weather in Zagreb tends to be fine to variable and you should be prepared for anything from sunny conditions with deep-blue skies to rainy days. Accordingly, maximum temperatures can vary between 12-25°C. Also check et http://prognoza.hr.
City transport: When you wish to move around the city, there is a very developed network of trams in Zagreb (www.zet.hr). A single trip (90 min) within the city costs 8.00 kn for a ticket acquired in the vehicle.
