Currency
The currency in Croatia is Croatian Kuna (kn). You can exchange foreign currency in any bank, exchange office or tourist office. Usual exchange rate for Euro is 1 Euro = 7.2 kn, but may vary a bit. A wide variety of credit cards are accepted in almost all shops, restaurants, hotels or travel agencies. Also, a large number of ATM machines are available. Safety Information
Please note that the organizers are not providing participants of the School with any insurance. Therefore, the travel and health insurance should be organized by participants, if needed.
Croatia is a safe country with low crime rate, and caution is necessary mostly for pickpockets. As Rovinj is a touristic city, there are no particular measures of caution that are required.
Visas
Croatia is generally open country and visas are not necessary for most of the visitors. Citizens of EU and most neighbouring countries can travel to Croatia only with their IDs. However, please check visa requirements for your country on the web of the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
