Dr. Peter Mackelworth is a geographer and conservation biologist with expertise in the development of marine conservation policies and sustainable development in small island environments. His research focuses on the development of marine conservation in Croatia with particular reference to the development of policies in the accession process. His current research projects include the investigation of social aspects of conservation in relation to the Lošinj Marine Reserve; Croatian accession and the development of marine conservation policies; and, the comparison of MPA policy development in Croatia and Brazil.
